Color palette reference

Space Color Palettes

Space palettes work because large dark values create room for a few points of color. Use the reference as atmosphere, not as a reason to add visual effects to every element.

Useful for

  • Science, technology, and education brands
  • Immersive landing pages and media products
  • Dark interface backgrounds with luminous states

Pairing notes

Start with navy or charcoal rather than pure black, then place violet or cyan where a user needs orientation. A pale neutral gives long-form content somewhere comfortable to sit.

Contrast note

Glowing accents do not guarantee readable text. Use solid foreground colors for labels and check contrast after blur, opacity, and gradient overlays are applied.

Use the build a mesh atmosphere to turn this family into an interface-ready system, or read hero section layouts for the implementation decisions behind the visual output.
