Color palette reference
Earth tones reduce visual temperature and give a product a sense of material. Their low saturation makes spacing, typography, and surface hierarchy more important.
Anchor the system in a pale mineral or paper surface, then add clay or forest as accents. A near-black brown can feel more coherent than a neutral black.
Tans and clay colors vary widely in luminance. Check dark text on every light swatch and avoid relying on a faint border to separate adjacent earth surfaces.
