Color palette reference
Neon palettes are strongest as a lighting system: one or two luminous accents against a dark, quiet field. Their value comes from contrast and restraint rather than from filling every surface with color.
Build the interface on near-black or deep chromatic neutrals. Use neon for controls, indicators, and a few intentional highlights; soften it when it appears beside body copy.
A fluorescent swatch can have poor contrast despite appearing bright. Test readable text separately and use a darker companion for labels on luminous fills.
